Activity

4
?

Most days require — or offer the option to engage in — longer or more strenuous walking (often 4+ miles or 8,000+ steps), extended standing, or varied terrain such as hills, sand, or cobblestones. Guests should be comfortable crouching to climb into and out of more rugged vehicles or small planes frequently. Some days may also include active excursions like biking, kayaking, horseback riding, or water sports. While less demanding alternatives may be available, the core experience typically involves sustained physical effort and is best suited to guests comfortable with a consistently active pace.

Pace

Full days with little downtime. Select days may offer opt-out opportunities or lighter alternatives. Ideal for travelers who want to stay engaged, but with some room to pace themselves.

Along Europe's Scenic "Yellow Roads"

From under the Tuscan sun to the Italian Riviera, embark on a journey that fills your senses with art, cuisine, wine, and the best of nature – from rolling Tuscan hills with vineyards of grapes and olives to the magnificent Mediterranean Italian Riviera, lined with fragrant gardens along a picturesque coastline... And suddenly, you are living la dolce vita...

Our 8-day journey brings extraordinary experiences, from nature to knowledge. Bicycling atop the walls of Lucca... or walking through the medieval alleys of Siena. It's laughter. It's sharing, such as vino made from grapes in the vineyards you've just explored. It's about becoming a part of day-to-day Italy... learning to cook Italian-style... savoring the extraordinary beauty of nature from Portofino along the Mediterranean's Italian Riviera... exploring villages of Cinque Terre National Park, overlooking the sea... and going off-the-beaten-path for an Italian cultural connection unlike any other.

A cooking class in the Tuscan hills

Day 6

Learn culinary secrets with a hands-on demonstration, tasting and lunch in the Tuscan hills

In case you were wondering, Tuscany is indeed all about the food... as you'll see for yourself at a hands-on cooking lesson with local chefs at Fattoria Colle Verde, one of the region's foremost wineries and olive oil producers. You'll do some olive oil tasting, some wine tasting, and dive into a pasta-making class to help create a lunch that can best be described as delizioso.

Cinque Terre has the most spectacular views I have ever seen. Hiking is amazing, beaches that are beautiful, and the food... delizioso!
