On a dhow off the coast of Zanzibar

Day 9

Sailing off on a dhow for an "Indian Ocean safari"

Dhows – traditional, handcrafted Arabian sailboats – have sailed the waters of the Indian Ocean and the Zanzibar archipelago for centuries, trading and fishing their way from one port to the next. Set out to sea aboard a dhow on a private cruise for an "Indian Ocean safari" – keeping your eyes peeled for dolphins frolicking in the waves. Cast anchor off a beach for lunch in a paradise of white sands and turquoise sea... and perhaps swimming and snorkeling in the crystal-clear waters off beautiful coral reefs.

Enjoy private game drives on safari vehicles

Days 2 – 8

Game drives across Ngorongoro Crater and the Serengeti plains

Board your specially built safari vehicle and embark on daily game drives across the African bush... in Tanzania's Ngorongoro Crater and Serengeti National Park. Guiding you on your safari adventures are our highly experienced drivers, trackers, rangers, and Tauck Directors... all eager to share their knowledge while keeping everyone engaged, safe and sound on the safari of a lifetime!

In a balloon over the Serengeti

Day 5

Soaring above the Serengeti grasslands

Wake up before the animals do as you climb aboard a private hot air balloon at dawn for a ride over the savanna and open woodlands of Serengeti National Park... “the place where the land moves on forever.” From your perch in the sky, you'll have a birds-eye view of vast herds of animals like zebras, giraffes and elephants as they start their day in the wilderness... then touch down for your own breakfast in the bush!
