Welcome aboard ms Joy

When you make your way onto ms Joy, climb to the top deck and take a moment to look over the rails and glance out as the riverbanks pass you by. Then, turn around and join back into the festivities, grabbing a cool drink and enjoying the company of loved ones and new friends, ready for the adventures that await...

Maintaining Tauck's high standards for quality and comfort, ms Joy cruises exclusively for Tauck on the Danube River as part of our Destination Fleet. With a maximum of 130 guests, the 443-foot riverboat and her sister ships continue our tradition of providing more space per guest on Europe's inland waterways, transporting fewer passengers than most longships (135 meters). Her deck plan is innovative; with a total of 67 cabins, our most popular cabins tend to be our largest... so we have used the added ship length to offer twenty-two 300-square-foot Tauck Suites – the most of any river cruise ship on any European river. To increase the amount of natural sunlight on the lower deck, we've created 8 loft cabins that extend from the first to the second decks, providing guests with an additional view; all windows in these loft cabins open.

Onboard Experience

Your day starts with breakfast onboard… sharing your favorite table by the window with the couple you became friends with at your welcome dinner… enjoying your favorite buffet selections just the way you like them… The riverboat docks right around the time you're finished with breakfast; you couldn't have asked for better timing… As you step off the ship, our local experts eagerly await to show you around the ancient village they call home. Discover its Romanesque church, ancient square and winding cobblestone lanes, then for lunch, maybe sample the wares of that famous local sausage stand over there, next to the country's oldest stone bridge – or return to the riverboat for lunch onboard. Back aboard, you won't arrive at your next port of call for a while, so take some time and explore your "floating hotel." Or, decide to relax and chat with friends as you bask in the sun, sipping a cool drink. Refreshed, you head into the lobby just in time to watch the riverboat dock. The afternoon ashore offers you a choice: a tour and tasting at a private family-owned winery in the vineyard-covered hills along the river's banks, or an excursion to a privately owned palace in the same family for generations… For dinner, an elegant affair in a baroque castle… the centerpiece of a medieval Bohemian town. Walking to the venue, your Tauck Director and local guide fill you in on the history that surrounds you. Your jaw drops as you enter the magnificent castle; the couple you had breakfast with joins you, bringing along some new friends. You don't want it to end, but alas, it must… another Tauck experience to check off on the "wow" list… Returning to the riverboat, you meet your companions for a little more camaraderie around the piano in the lounge before calling it a night. Drifting off to sleep, you smile… realizing that you'll soon be waking up in another magical town… to embark on another perfect day of your Tauck river cruise… Read Less
