WILTON, CT (November 13, 2023) Tauck, the 98-year-old leader in upscale, guided tours and cruises, is expanding its partnership with Rocky Mountaineer to introduce two new North American journeys that each feature a scenic two-day rail component. The two new itineraries are "Salt Lake City to Denver by Rocky Mountaineer" (eight days from $7,590 USD per person, double occupancy, plus airfare*) and "The Best of Western Canada & Rocky Mountaineer" (10 days from $10,990 USD per person, double occupancy, plus airfare**). The two companies already partner on a third itinerary, "Vancouver & the Rockies by Rocky Mountaineer."

Rocky Mountaineer is the award-winning leader in luxury train travel, and was recently named the world's top train by readers of Travel + Leisure in the magazine's annual "World's Best Awards." Tauck has consistently been honored in the Travel + Leisure awards as well, being named to the "World's Best Tour Operators" list or "World's Best River Cruise Lines" list (and often both lists) in each of the past 26 years.

The train segment in each of Tauck's two new itineraries will pair the ease, relaxation and romance of rail travel – including incredible panoramic views of scenic alpine landscapes – with the comfort and amenities provided by full-service hotel accommodations along the way.

Tauck's new "Salt Lake City to Denver by Rocky Mountaineer" begins with two nights at the Grand America Hotel in Salt Lake City, Utah. There, guests will enjoy city sightseeing and visit nearby Park City, once a bustling mining town and now a four-season resort area set in the heart of the Rockies. During a subsequent two-night stay in Moab, Utah, guests will visit Dead Horse Point State Park, take a flightseeing excursion over Canyonlands National Park, and enjoy a choice of either a gentle whitewater rafting adventure on the Colorado River or a 4x4 off-road tour.

After time exploring Arches National Park the following day (Day 5 of Tauck's itinerary), guests will board their Rocky Mountaineer train and travel by rail to Glenwood Springs, Colorado, where they'll enjoy hotel accommodations that night. The following day, guests will re-board the Rocky Mountaineer and travel to Denver, traversing the Continental Divide by traveling through the 6.2 mile-long Moffat Tunnel outside of the city. The remainder of the journey is comprised of a two-night stay at The Four Seasons Hotel Denver, with an exploration of the city and the Rocky Mountain foothills bordering Denver to the west. (Westbound departures from Denver to Salt Lake City are also available.)

TRAVELING BY RAIL FROM LAKE LOUISE TO VANCOUVER
Tauck's second new journey is "The Best of Western Canada & Rocky Mountaineer", which is highlighted by a two-day rail trip aboard a Rocky Mountaineer train from Lake Louise to Vancouver. Along with the train journey, the itinerary is notable for featuring accommodations in four Fairmont properties, including the iconic Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise where guests will begin their Tauck experience with a three-night stay. During their stay, guests will enjoy a float trip on the Bow River followed by afternoon tea at the Banff Springs Hotel, a breathtaking drive along the Icefields Parkway, and a memorable Ice Explorer trip atop the Athabasca Glacier.

Guests will board their Rocky Mountaineer train the next day (Day 4 of the itinerary) for their two-day rail journey to Vancouver, enjoying premier Gold Leaf seating and panoramic windows in the upper level of their glass-domed coach, and lunch en route in the lower-level dining area below. After an overnight stay in a Kamloops, BC, hotel, guests will re-board the Rocky Mountaineer for the final leg of their trip to Vancouver.

While in Vancouver, guests will have an overnight stay at the Fairmont Hotel Vancouver. The following day they'll set out on a guided orientation tour of the city before boarding a flightseeing flight from Coal Harbor to Victoria, where they'll have a two-night stay on Vancouver Island at The Fairmont Empress. A private whale watching cruise with a marine naturalist awaits the following day, along with a second night at The Fairmont Empress, before guests travel to the Fairmont Chateau Whistler to conclude their journey with a two-night stay.
